Hi ! I've read your other responses and Raiden sounds so much like at that age. I can't tell you how many times I've said to people "she just doesn't get it" or "she's so clueless when I talk to her" and everybody poo-pooed me. Now she's just turned 4 and still completely nonverbal. Where do you live in GA? I just started taking her to an oral motor specialist in Alpharetta. All she does is work on moving her mouth correctly. She explained to me how if your child doesn't move their body well then it only makes sense that she wouldn't move her mouth well and how all the systems work together, so if one is out of wack then all are probably out of wack. We've only been going for 3 weeks, but I can already see how she's going to be the one that makes a difference. She gives us exercises to try throughout the week each time. We've also picked up private OT and PT. Your son sounds like he has sensory issues as well. I know is really freaky about anything to do with her head, but everything else on her body seems to be hypo-sensitive.

She too is very low tone. We're going to go bankrupt, but we're going to fix that child!!

If you'd like more info on her, just let me know! Post to the list though as my email is still down!

Wow Aimee, Thanks so much for your response. :) My husband is in the Army and we live on Fort Gordon which is in Augusta,Ga. I'm going to ask around about an oral motor specialist. That sounds like something Raiden could really use. That does make sense if he is having trouble moving other parts of his body the same would go for the mouth. We have been working real hard on trying to teach him to walk and he is developmentally delayed in all areas. I'm really going to look into that specialist. I had no idea they were out there. Thanks so much!

Also,Raiden does have big time sensory issues. We brush his whole body with the brushes our therapists have given us. It is really helping out. O.T does a lot of sensory stuff with him and gives me wonderful ideas. P.T has me brush Raiden right before she comes because it tends to help Raiden out in P.T so she can touch him.

Thanks again Aimee for your reply. It really helped a lot. Our kiddos sound so much alike. :) HUGS,
