Guest guest
, nice to meet you, my name is tim, i have a VARY hard time focasing when i am depressed as well, but what helps me sometimes is reading something i like, or, setting up a few candles and darken the room and listen to calming music trying to blank my mind out and relax, or, if you have a pet, enjoy the pet for a while, or, take a nice long peaceful walk, with trying to pay attention to the narue around you insted of constantly thinking and dwelling. or, drink alot of water and just take a nap if you can. also drinking some nice flaverful tea's sometimes helps, like mints or rosehip tea's. but as you can tell from many of my last posting it dont always work esp if your as spontainius as my self and jump the gun insted of trying to relax. and <HUGS> hope things feel better for you soon. > > im sorry i havent been keeping up with everything its been so crazy > around here and its so hard with dealing with everything. Guest guest
, First of all, please remember that you are always welcome here no matter how often you stop in. Regarding stress, that's a toughy, because no matter what you do to try to relax, the problems still stay there. I think you need to remember that you are an Aspie and you need certain things just to survive. Maybe for you it's peace and quiet, or freedom from distraction. Whatever it may be, I would suggest trying to change the things you can and not to worry about the things you can't. At least by changing SOME things, you will be making parts of your life a bit less stressful, and this may provide you with a bit of enthusiasm for tackling what remains. I tend to take a lot of baths to help me settle down. I am older than you and past college, so I usually go on overnighters where there is a zoo nearby or something. I stay in a motel and watch movies and sleep late at night and visit a zoo or go hiking the next day. Whatever you can do to change the environment you live and study in to make things more peaceful and welcoming for you is a good start. If you have that pillow of comfort to rest on when the rest of life is tough, it really helps alot. A couple of times, ive actually had to miss class because i was so close to breakng down and couldnt deal with anything. i cant afford to miss those classes, but i also didnt think it would be good for me to go. oes any one have any suggestions on how i can relax or not stress about everything (mostly parents and school is what is bothering me) i especially feel like i shouldnt miss english class (which i had to this week cause my dad had yelled and cursed at me for telling him the phone was ringing and he didnt care that i couldnt get up and put down food quickly enough) cause we had to write a paper on basically ur life story, so now my teacher nows about me and i dont want him to think im taking advantage of him. if anyone could help, id love that. thanks, amanda ps ill try to read some posts if i ever have the time:(

Does any one have any suggestions on how i can relax or not stress about everything (mostly parents and school is what is bothering me) i especially feel like i shouldnt miss english class (which i had to this week cause my dad had yelled and cursed at me for telling him the phone was ringing and he didnt care that i couldnt get up and put down food quickly enough) cause we had to write a paper on basically ur life story, so now my teacher nows about me and i dont want him to think im taking advantage of him. if anyone could help, id love that. Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time, . Have you tried explaining to your dad how stressed you get when he yells at you? Sometimes family members slip into a bad habits with each other and don't realize what those bad habits may do to the other family member's nerves. Same with school. I suspect that those who design and execute education may not realize that they are often placing unreasonable amounts of pressure on students. What I dislike about the way things are done on this planet is the widespread habit of making both education and work into something overly serious and boring, when it should really be something fun and developing that one does of one's own free will at one's own pace. Unfortunately, the way the economic system is currently designed my ideal wouldn't really work, but I will still hold that vision for the future. Perhaps it might help if you try to not fall into the trap of taking things as seriously as they want you to? Especially school issues are really not the end of the world, even if it feels like it when you're there. What I do to relax is to either watch TV, take a walk, or do something with my hands like paint, sew, do manicure or sort things - which is of course easier to enjoy and get de-stressed by if you're left to do it in peace.
