Guest guest
Here's another breakfast idea. We drink lots of moogi cha (recipe to follow) and I'm always at a loss as to what to do with the left over kamut. Here's the moogi cha recipe along with the breakfast idea. Moogi cha (A Japanese roasted wheat tea) Dry saute a cup or so of kamut grains until they are popping and get toasted turning a little brown in color (I think other grains would work as well) Put kamut into a pot of boiling water and steep for awhile (15 minutes is probably fine) I just use my largest sauce pan - it holds probably 8 - 10 cups of water Pour the water off the grain and drink it hot or cold. We like it cold like iced tea best. This is one of my daughters favorite drinks. With the leftover grain, I cover it with water and add a couple tablespoons of whey and soak it 12 hours or so. By now the grain will be totally open almost like popcorn. Thne I cook it like oatmeal and serve it with creme fraiche or whipped cream, cinnamon, raisins and some chopped up crispy almonds.
