Guest guest
What Dr JM observes is quite similar to what we see with Valtrex in my opinion and what others observe about chelation. In typical kids we don't see rashes and fungal flairs with these treatments. That to me says we are dealing with something different. I believe the rashes she observes are probably the same thing we see here, just triggered by a different modality. My belief is a bit different than hers. I don't believe it's just a change in the immune system. I believe that it's a change in the balance of fungus, bacteria, viruses and metals in the body. All four play warfare with each other. Change one and you will affect the others. This is why it is so important to have a multi disciplined approach when you approach children with autism. It goes back to my last comment to Vera about western medicine. My belief is that if you treat autism, you need to consider the combination of fungus, bacteria, viruses and metals and work on them at the same or close to the same time. I don't wait for these types of markers when I know that they will likely be there. I've seen too many folks try a single therapy and throw their kids into a tail spin and then say, " Wow, that therapy didn't work. " ... but maybe it was working, but it was causing a fungal flair or a bacterial imbalance. If one of our kids really " wigs out " over LDN (or Valtrex), it is likely a sign of something important that we need to better understand in that particular child... we shouldn't turn a blind eye to it, we should try to understand the underlying condition that is causing the flair... because that condition is likely one of the core issues of the child's autism. If I were to do LDN, I would do it with an antifungal, the same way as I would with antiviral or chelation. Or, I would at least have a strategy ready for the likely event a flair would happen.
