Jen Folapro from Metagenics is the most bio-available form of folate

for the body. I'd check with your son's doc as to dosage.

Sublingual methyl B12 is practically useless. Consider

this: most of our kids have digestive issues.

Anything swallowed has the possiblity of going right

through the system, without being absorbed.

Our boy has benefitted most from MB12 injections.

Why not get the shots? If you are afraid of hurting

him, I suggest going to Dr. Neubrander's web site and

watching the videos of parents giving their kids the

shots. My grandson gets them in his sleep and he is

much more disturbed by moving the blanket and his

diaper then the shot itself. I know that the nasal

spray has merit, I want it for myself. I just can't

see squirting anything up a four year old's nose as

being easy. Our boy would scream and fight it, after

the first spray.

My daughter in law told her pediatrician, " before we

go any further I need a rx for MB12. " When the doctor

said he wasn't convinced, yadayadayada, she said,

" Either I get the prescription or I leave now. " He

gave her one good for a year's worth.

I respectively disagree, we used oral methyl B12 and it got in and I know a

number of kids for whom this was true. There are some kids with really bad

guts that don't absorb it but I wouldn't assume this is true for all kids.

Theresa Binstock has said she gets a lot of relief and improvement with oral

methyl B12. Best to start with oral and see what you get. I would certainly

rather take a pill than have a shot, if possible.

I'm using oral too. My daughter would wake up during the injections and get hysterical. There was absolutely NO WAY I could give her the shot when she was awake - I needed someone else to help me and even then it was HARD! Keep in mind, she was 5 - and maybe 40 pounds! Her doctor has MB12 in her compounded vitamin and I give her extra - hoping it will help! The emotional trauma for her was just too much with the shots! FWIW, we saw nothing with oral, but the nasal MB12 can have my little

guy's methylation cycle spinning pretty fast and furious. Perhaps

too much so.... We found the spray much more tolerable than the shot.

We use the B-12 from Now because we are GFCFEF.It is a sub-lingual.That said, sublingual is absorbed thru the mucus membranes NOT THE GUT.My son was on the shots and now does the sub-lingual and has no issues. We had more issues with the shots being the right diameter and having no thimerosol. His pediatrician argued with me that the shots never have thimerosol added to them. I can't wait to hear the response from all of you on that.

I understand your pov but I think that starting with

oral MB12 reflects a caution that is unwarranted.

Very few kids have negative reactions (other than

non-responding), and if the kid has digestive trouble

a parent might misread absorbtion difficulty as

non-responding. It would be terrible for a parent to

think that their kid was nonresponder to MB12, when

they were simply unable to use that particular form.
