Guest guest
Hi all - SO - I said yes to going to a pain management clinic. I walked out with a possible new dx - and I have no idea what to think. (I mean, I have thoughts....but not positive!) The doc NEVER looked at my films. I brought all my MRI's on a thumb drive - and all he wanted were the reports. (you know, so he didn't have to have an opinion) The warning bells went off when he said " Putting Chiari aside.... " Granted, I agree. Not all is chiari related. But my chief complaint was/is headaches. And hello - a hole in the head is a good starting point! His take was I have arthritis in my c-spine. He wants to do nerve blocks under an x-ray. Then after 4 hrs - report back to him to see if that worked. Has anyone done this? If so, I'd like to hear your take. I'm willing to try anything - as I'm just not prepared for surgery. (proposed by TCI - TC surgery and a revision) I told him in no uncertain terms, I am not looking for surgery. IF I have surgery, I know where to go. He then gave me a referral to a nsg. As much as I think I would like to rule out arthritis - it truly felt like he was just going through the motion with me. Like this is what he dx for 90% of the folks who walk through the door b/c it is easy and pays the bills....or maybe I'm just too cynical. I'd love to hear what folks have to say. Hope everyone is enjoying the first signs of spring - I know it has helped me!!! Take care - in Leesburg, VA decompressed/ c5/c6 fusion - 2001 Three little ones 03, 05, 07 TCI in 07 and recommended TC surgery and Revision surgery!
