Guest guest
Where is this doctor located? I have low T too (300-400). If there is a chance it would work I would be willing to find out more. Unfortunately for me all the doctors I have spoke with say that is normal even though my free t is also pretty low. > > > Just wanted to let everyone know I saw a doctor who specializes in men's sexual health this past week. Guest guest
He's located in RI. Yes, we're " borderline cases " . My primary doc tested me and said I'm " normal " only because I'm within a very broad lab range. This guy saw my test results and immediately associated my sexual issues with the low readouts. From all my research, I don't know of anyone that maintains a libido in the 300-400 range, whether they've taken SSRIs or not. Guest guest
Men's Health Center Pawtucket, RI. There's more than one doc that can help. I had to wait 6 weeks to get an appointment. If I do end up doing the pellets, and it works, I will see what kind of nationwide connections they have. I know it's hard finding a doc that provides this therapy. Guest guest
dont think is that easy as I'ved tried testosterone gels and injections for over a year to treat PSSD......unfortunately while you might get some initial good and promising results it wont last, the problem is that in men testosterone converts to estrogen via aromatose enzyme, and at a higher rate if you have excess body far,....and with high estrogen (particularly estradiol or E2) you will feel like crap, have low libido, ED and a host of other issues you can take an aromatose inhibitor to prevent this but that will in turn mess with your lipids...and it goes on and on and on... if you want to try go ahead but dose at least as possible and keep an eye on your estradiol levels....also libido is very complicated and it takes more than just testosterone...is more in your brain than in your hormones, and if you take high levels of testosterone and your thyroid or adrnal hormones arent up to par you will be in for a miserable ride. > > > Just wanted to let everyone know I saw a doctor who specializes in men's sexual health this past week. Guest guest
I am skeptical and here is why... PSSD is not just a male problem. As a female, I actually had low T (low for a female, that is) which I had treated with T cream and at one time even with pellets. My testosterone has been in the high end of the range now for 8+ months and has done nothing for my libido. In fact, the Testosterone being in the high end of the range and not working flagged to my Dr. that my issue has more to due with my neurotransmitters and not my hormones. All my hormones and thyroid are currently in the ideal high end of their ranges. > > > Just wanted to let everyone know I saw a doctor who specializes in men's sexual health this past week. Guest guest
hi denise. I guess I'm not surprised, but good job for experimenting. My T and free T are in the mid to low range of normal but I have never felt like that was the problem and I was a little worried about tampering with my hormones. I am also a woman, did you experience any side effects from raising your testosterone? I don't mean anything drastic, but... anything? thx > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Just wanted to let everyone know I saw a doctor who specializes in men's sexual health this past week. Guest guest
Im just 26 but my testosterone is at 500 when really it should be closer to 1000 for someone of my age. I think we should be less focused on how our levels compare to optimal and more on how it compares to what our baseline was pre-PSSD. But of course very few people do extensive medical tests UNTIL things go wrong. I read somewhere while testosterone replacement does get your numbers up it does not always correlate to changes in sex drive and function. So I think we should stick to natural approaches like weightlifting, increasing consumption of olive oil, EFAs and so on. Optimising nutrient levels such as Zinc, Vitamin D. Ensuring a healthy intake of cholestrol. Sorting out our adrenals and thyroid if needed. Basically a holistic approach. Ive also heard herbs such as tongkat ali and tribulus can boost testosterone in a more natural fashion. Might be worth a try but make sure you get a quality product hi denise. Guest guest
I'm fully aware of the potential for too much T to E2 conversion. However, this happens much less often with T pellets, because they provide a relatively steady stream of testosterone. My doctor specializes in T therapy, so he knows all the risks involved and what to test for. My free T is 127 with a range of 110-575. Is it possible to have a respectable libido with a number this low, regardless of whether one has PSSD or not? I don't think so. That's why I'm leaning towards treatment. I think it depends on where your recovery is at as to whether or not testosterone will work or not. Honestly most people here aren't doing the right things to move things along - either jumping from one psych med to the next, or watching too much porn and masturbating way too much. Guest guest
I don't blame you for being skeptical at all. But I'm not going to refrain from treatment simply because I have PSSD, and others here haven't had success with it. There are in fact members here who have at least partially recovered by receiving some sort of T therapy as the only course of treatment. I have most of the symptoms of low T, I actually have low T, and I have a great doctor with a great track record.. Guest guest
Prior to taking the bioidentical hormones my levels were way below even the bottom of the range. I have not had any problems at all. They have helped me tremendously if feeling healthier. I am fairly active in terms of working out and I play a ton of tennis. Before taking the hormones I was having problems developing muscle tone and began developing belly fat despite being active. Important to note is that my hormones didn't go out of whack until I stopped taking the SSRIs. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Just wanted to let everyone know I saw a doctor who specializes in men's sexual health this past week.
