Yes, I took naltroxone (100 mg/day ????? If i remember well, ask a good doctor) from april 2008 to april 2009, it helped me in fighting physical and to a lesser extent emotional numbness; and it also improved sleep in a dramatic way. Thus my state improved, and I could start doing sports again, beeing more active at work, having more social activities, ... it helped starting a process of recovery I did then fuel with my own will. After one year of naltrexone and hard patient fighting and taking care of myself, I was well enough to deceide to stop and do without chemistry. When I stopped health continued improving. Now I consider beeing at least 90% healed. I guess this medecine was efficient with me because my symptoms which started after taking seroxat (ssri) have very much in common with

depersonalization. Naltrexone is supposed to help against depersonalization disorder(wikipedia). Kind regards JeanPS: whatever mental problem you have I think it is important to understand what caused your problem, and why you reacted in such a way. There is nothing mad in reacting in strong ways to big problems like death or unjustifiable violence, but it nevertheless necessary to take a step back (relaxing trying simply to enjoy beauty of nature helps), think about your problems until they get very clear and then find the necessary philosophical solutions. Medecine will only help for phisical sumptoms or combat general mental overreactions (fear, over-excitment, ...), but at the best it won't help

you solve philosophical, problems and in the worst but likely case it will cause your problems to disappear in fog, but hte problems will nevertheless continue to exist and beeing hidden in fog will be even more dangerousSubject: low dose naltrexoneTo: SSRIsex Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 4:50 PM

My acupuncturist said I should get a psychiatrist to prescribe me this and see what happens. Apparently its been one of those wonder fix all drugs. Going to ask my psych about it. Hes pretty good about trying new things. Then again he is the same doctor that prescribed me lexapro in the first place.

Anybody heard of it?

Thats great man. Glad to hear. Did you have PSSD or just emotional numbness? To

what extent did you have PSSD? Thanks I hope you can answer some of our

questions.

I tried it for one night only, and I really didn't like it. But it wore off

without leaving any side effects, and who know what would have happened if I had

taken it a bit longer. I can't remember exactly what it felt like - other than

very strange, it did make me sleep but in a weird way. It didn't affect my

thinking or emotions or anything -I think it was a little bit like taking tons

of theraflu. I still have the bottle however by now it's probably expired.

Out of what is listed on wikiopedia on pssd I experiencedReduced or no experience of pleasure during orgasm (ejaculatory anhedonia)Premature ejaculationWeakened penile, vaginal or clitoral sensitivityGenital anesthesiaLoss or decreased response to sexual stimulibesides I also experienced, lack of skin sensitivity (in the shower water on my shin felt unpleasant like my skin were rubber) besides depersonalization. Natrexone was efficient with pssd-adhedinia-physical numbness related problems, but improvement was gradually over one year, and went on afterwards nothing very spectacular (except when I look back at what I was like in january 2008)!Subject: Re: low dose naltrexone (it helped me)To: SSRIsex Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 10:30 PM

Hi, thanks also a lot for the support on this site,, it helped me understand I had not gone completely nuts and understand that other people were also experiencing similar things! I think one lesson I learned during this years it is that live is worth fighting for, and that hope exists if one believes in hopeSubject: Re: low dose naltrexone (it helped me)To: SSRIsex Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 7:49 PM

Congratulations on your recovery, Jon. You have been officially added to our Hall Of Fame, now...lolLooks like this has to be tried next for our condition. From Wikipedia: Naltrexone can induce early morning erections in patients who suffer from psychogenic erectile dysfunction. The exact pathway of this effect is unknown. Priapism has been reported in two individuals receiving Vivitrol.

Naltrexone has been shown to be effective in the reversal of sexual satiety and exhaustion in male rats.Subject: Re: low dose naltrexone (it helped me)To: SSRIsex Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 10:30 PM

So, seems like its been nearly 2 yrs after you stopped the medicine, right? Did the recovery start during the treatment with naltrexone or after it? And your genital sensitivity is back to normal? Subject: Re: low dose naltrexone (it helped me)To: SSRIsex Date: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 7:49 PM
