Guest guest
Well,I had an appointment with a new endochronologist yesterday...and I'm not sure I've found "the one" yet. She was good about saying that she wants to try different things until we find something that works. She switched me to armour...none of the pharmacies had armour, so the compounding pharmacy made me "thyroid" and I am taking "1 grain". This is supposedly the equivelent of the 100 mcg of synthroid that I was taking before. She said that some of her patients do better on armour and other of her patients do better on synthroid....and others do better on a T3, T4 combo. of another kind. But this is where she wants to start. She didn't want to do bloodwork (since I already had a panel done 6 weeks ago) until I've had the armour in my system for 5 weeks. Then, she's doing a thyroid panel. No extra testing of anything else...She said that I don't have to go gluten free unless I am celiac. I am going gluten free anyway after what I've read. I also had an appointment with a nutritionist. All 3- the GI doc, the nutritionist, and the new doc said that coffee is fine...as long as not in excess. It will help me poop, help my mood, and even helps against some heart disease and diabetes. So, I am SO SCARED to take this new "thyroid". I took it this morning and haven't noticed anything different. I'm just worried that I am going to get worse and not better...guess I switch back to the synthroid if that is the case. I'm still gaining a pound a week with no end in sight! I guess I just watch for "heart palpatations". She said if I get jittery, then I should cut the pill in half and take only half a day...but it's in a capsule and I don't think it will split EVENLY in half. This new doc. seemed very passive and laid back with everything...too laid back kind of. But, she perscribed armour when no other docs would...sooo...Anyway....any thought?? Thanks!
