I was totally unaware of this. I'll look into it asap. m

I thought they were private already. *Problem is, most lists are open to general scrutiny. Adam McLean's are and so are those of several other lists I belong to. Also: WHO do you ask? There's no proviso for it in any of the moderator-options available to us (I've just spent an hour checking). Any suggestions? m (the rather unmoderating moderator today - certainly not very hot off the mark, anyway)
Guest guest
Mike, One suggestion is for us each to use a pseudonym or first name (as I tend to do) as our sign on identifier. I had noticed this problem some time ago when I typed in my name on a search engine and found only those JF conversations that included my whole name. I just thought everyone but me knew that this was happening. You may each with to try the same thing. Anyway, this is one (albeit not the best) solution. I know it must be a big pain to find another home for our group, but this privacy issue thing is not insignificant in the least. Guest guest
But, on the other hand, I don't want us to lose the archives. That would be a big loss for us, especially those who have not saved all the posts but were relying on the archives to preserve the posts and threads for us. Guest guest
As far as I know, there is and can be no true privacy on the internet. I suggest that no one write anything on any internet forum that he/she would not be willing to see published in the newspaper. I try to follow this rule myself (believe it or not). Best regards, Dan Watkins

Guest guest
Dear all, this is a general plea from a very frustrated archive user - can you please update the subject window for your messages to reflect the nature of your message, otherwise when you search the archives you will find that you can expect anything (except for what you are looking for) under your search category - the subject title seems to be the main " categorizing " factor. Thanks Newton >
