Macrocytosis: RBCs are larger than normal Poikilocytosis: RBCs vary more in size than usual Eliptocytosis: Some RBCs are more eliptical than round. These changes are very common in people with HIV, especially if you are taking AZT, or an AZT containing product like Combivir or Trizvir.
