Guest guest
Thanks so much for the interview text. However, there has been much talk in this forum about Bio-Alcamid as a treatment for lipoatrophy and I didn’t see that addressed in your interview with Dr. Lemperle. Or did I miss it somehow? If not discussed by you and Dr. Lemperle is it possible to get his thoughts on that particular treatment substance? Thanks for your informative group too! Thanks for pointing that out. This is an old interview and I did not know about Bio-Alcamid then. Guest guest
(and us) may not have known bioalcamid back then but Dr. Lemperle did. Biolcamid is a polyacrylamide and may have even been inspired via Ukraine (check out http://www.lipaugmentation.com/microimplants.htm for a little insight about bioalcamid history). , Txx for the informative interview and also pointing out Dr Lemperle's potential conflict of interest for advocating artecoll. How do you know Dr. Lemperle? Does he do a good job with artecoll? Do you know any patients who used him and are happy with the results several years later? Doesnt California require insurance to cover lipoatrophy treatments? So when artecoll is approved, treatments with Dr. Lemperle will be reimbursable? Dr. Lemperle doesnt say anything about whether artecoll is removable. Is it removable like he says polyacrylamides and silicones are? eb >> In a message dated 11/19/03 10:41:43 AM Central Standard Time, >> satterthp001@h... writes: >> Thanks so much for the interview text. Guest guest
(and us) may not have known bioalcamid back then but Dr. Lemperle did. Biolcamid is a polyacrylamide and may have even been inspired via Ukraine (check out http://www.lipaugmentation.com/microimplants.htm for a little insight about bioalcamid history). The polyacrylamides from Russia and China had a lot of problems with infections. The italians changed the formulation and created bio-alcamid (poly-akylamide) , Txx for the informative interview and also pointing out Dr Lemperle's potential conflict of interest for advocating artecoll. I respect him a lot. He was the only speaker in my conference that was not afraid to talk about side effects and their treatments. Yes, he is biased for his product like anyone else would. He trains docs on injection procedure for Artecoll and only trusts those who he has trained. He told me some docs in Canada are using it for lipoatrophy but he does not have any experience himself. Yes, CA seems to have something very preliminary but you guys who live there should do the advocacy and call Sacramento (ane email Joe.Hall@... who knows more about it). Yes, if it is approved it may be reimbursable in CA (silicone already is, ask Joe) Dr. Lemperle doesnt say anything about whether artecoll is removable. Is it removable like he says polyacrylamides and silicones are? Nope, it is not, and that is the scary part. You would need surgery for that. eb VergelDirector, Program for Wellness Restoration (PoWeR)An all volunteer non profit 501 © 3 organization.www.powerusa.orgSend an email to lipodystrophy-subscribe to join our free listserve!Subscribe to our newsletter PoWeRHealthReview by emailing Editor@...
