Guest guest
I am using a ABA consultant from the Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP). They have an office in Sumter SC. The lady in billing at WEAP said that a base near Sumter, I think it was Ft Gordon is contracting with WEAP. Check out the WEAP website - it is www.wiautism.com Call and ask for billing and perhaps she can tell you more. Joy autism-georgia I would like to hear as well. That is what the list is for. Sharing information that will help everyone. I haven't seen alot of options after my son is through with Babies Can't Wait. I wish they had 0-5 since that is when "school" technically starts for typical children. Hello Everyone, I agree. I wish Baby's Can't Wait was 0-5. It disappoints me a great deal that it ends at 3. My son is 2 1/2 and I'm starting to stress out with finding ways to pay for therapy. He receives 7 a week right now. P.t (twice weekly),O.t (twice weekly),Speech ( twice weekly) and special instruction once a week. We have applied for medi-care but it is taking forever and we are also going to apply for Bequette. Our insurance now TRICARE only covers therapies if you have them 8 hours a day. Which isn't our case. Like I said I'm starting to really stress about this and having a hard time hunting down information. If I continue on this track I think I may move out of state. My husband is military so if we do enough fussing and paperwork they will move us. I just don't want to do that to Raiden again so soon. He has moved 4 times ( 4 states) since he has been born 2 1/2 years ago. So,any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm living on Fort Gordon,GA which is in Augusta , GA. The school district here is real poor and doesn't seem to have any "special" programs for the kids when they turn 3. Also, has anyone found a way to get insurance to pay for ABA? Just curious, this is something else I have been looking into. Hugs, momofsugarplum
Guest guest
Are you getting the school system or the state to pay for this training?? Please let me know what funding stream you will be using, and how you got this in his IEP. Did you have a doctor recommend & help you get the training program? Guest guest
Henry, The funding stream at the moment is me - which won't last for two years. I am calling for an IEP, but the school has not set a date yet. I am just asking for them to provide the aide or parapro to do 15 hours per week. The rest will be done at home and I'll be paying. The Marcus Institute recommended we do ABA - they haven't helped us get this program. If the school cooperates, I'll let you know. Joy autism-georgia I would like to hear as well. Guest guest
Good luck. We will be living in either Leesburg or Albany, and will also be going for WEAP.
