Guest guest
is it high cuz your "good" (hdl) cholesterol level is high? maybe your "bad" (ldl) cholesterol level is low? ... could be genetics? googling stress and cholesterol brings lot's of results...so could be stress. what about tofu/soybeans? i think 219 is still OK! not too terribly high. medlineplus: http://medlineplus.gov/ is a good site for simple (non alternative) health info. it's by the national library of medicine. sarah purpleveg wrote: Can someone help me and tell me why the Macro Queen has cholesterol levels of 219???A friend told me stress can raise it!Help!!! Guest guest
can be due to liver factors.I had diabetes indcued liver damage a few months ago which resolved in record time with a bot of diet adjustment and herbs and other supplements - but at the time was choleterol was elevated - this was due to "farry liver disease" which is like a non viral hepatitis - it can also be caused by autoimmune factors which were involed I believe with me - eg diabetes. an old case of crohns disease badly diagnosed and treated as a teen was discovered with some highly specific blood test by a cluey holistic doc. It iis also autoimmune and common in ashkenasy jews. I too a high dose of Milk Thistle extract for a few months and other liver suportive herbs etc. My liver enzymes dropped from the high 700's to the more normal range of round 20. I did stop taking a lot of the things because I felt I was getting unbalanced and it was causing other stuff after a while but it was necessary and a good plan. purpleveg wrote: Can someone help me and tell me why the Macro Queen has cholesterol levels of 219??? Guest guest
the whole choleterol issue is a bit of a hoax - it is a created condition. the body produces excess cholterol as a reavtion to something - to heal it - it is like repair fluid that is ticks on places where there is some type of damage perhaps - so medicating for it is such a misguided thing and the cholerterol drugs like llipitor have horrendous issues. the predocution can of bodily cholesterol cna be a repsonse ot many things, excess acidity, viral overload etc - many more Ilanit Tof - Signature Ilanit Ms Ilanit Tof B.A. (Psychophysiology/Psychology) Advanced Diploma Healing with Wholefoods PhD Holistic Nutrition (candidate) Little Tree Oriental Healing Arts Helping you grow to new heights of wellbeing with Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition ilanit@... www.littletree.com.au
Guest guest
What do I know? Only what I read at this juncture. A quote from "The L i t t l e B o ok of Miso" Miso from South River Recipes. In 1981,The National Cancer Institute of Japan published results of a 13-year study involving a quarter million people. They found regular use of miso lowered the death rate from cancer, heart, and liver disease. People in the study who ate no miso had a 50% higher risk of stomach cancer than those who ate miso every day. Some of the benefits associated with regular use of miso include: promoting strong digestion, antiaging, detoxifying, reducing undesirable cholesterol, normalizing blood pressure, preventing stroke, and neutralizing the harmful effects of tobacco smoke, atmospheric pollution, and radiation poisoning. See Chapter 2 in The Book of Miso . B purpleveg wrote: Can someone help me and tell me why the Macro Queen has cholesterol levels of 219??? A friend told me stress can raise it! Help!!! Guest guest
Hey , it is genetic but I've always been bragging that b/c of my wonderful (ahem) diet I have no problems with cholesterol even tho it's genetic, blah blah. My hdl is 62.2 and ldl 139 I do have a problem with my bro in law's office not sure if you were around to hear my other blood test horror story from that office. When I was pregnant I had that stupid afp 'screening' and my brother in law called me (mind you told my sister too who told my mom) that it came back that Marlie had a 1 in 32 chance of having down's syndrome. He told me he called his friend the obgyn and she said I MUST have a stage 2 ultrasound (I had been telling them I refuse all ultrasounds the whole time) and an amnio asap and could he schedule the appt for me. He then in typical dr mode said I told her that you wouldn't do the amnio so she said well you must atleast have the stage 2 ultrasound. I flipped, spoke to Bruce, he and I spoke to a million ppl and found it's usually inaccurate and bogus. Well, I happen to switch midwives at the time too and she did the test again and said they usually leave out some info, etc. She got a completely different result: 1 in 3400 chance. Moron doctors!!! My brother in law was so insulted he insisted on seeing the results and kept shuffling the papers and flipping them and making all sorts of noise while reading it. For the first year of Marlie's life he kept observing her and waiting for something to go wrong. He can't handle that he's 3.5 and never been VERY sick, only sick with a cold 3 times tops. I have a friend who is in the health field who told me y'day that 219 is VERY high and that it should be around 125 I thought that was ridiculous. But what do I know?
