My heart aches at this news. This is a huge loss to us all. Tim Brewi was a very special person. I just want to offer my own little tribute with a quick story.

A couple of years ago, I started looking for a personal trainer whom I might feel comfortable working with. My concern was that I live in a small town and felt self-conscious about my lipodystrophy. Tim Brewi was extremely helpful. He took the time to make several phone calls for me (from LA, where he lived) to a gym here in my area (in Massachusetts). Without telling them who I was, he interviewed some trainers for me about their qualifications, and whether they had any knowledge or interest in HIV issues, tried to determine whether they had any prejudices, and how interested they'd be in working with me. He then got back to me with a full report. He really went out of his way to help me. He did this at his own expense and expected nothing in return.

I kept in touch with him over the past few years and I was always impressed by what a helpful and giving person he was. He will be sorely missed.
