Guest guest
I stumbled upon this group after viewing Stna's video " Death by Flu Shot? " . I was drawn to this as without a doubt this was the trigger for my son who spiraled into autism after back to back flu vaccines at 9 and 10 mos. I am happy to report that my son, now 3 1/2, is recovered. Dr Bradstreet our DAN! told us this summer that should register with ARI as reocovered and we had a formal re- evaluation in December at the University of Pittsburgh Autism Center which declared he no longer met criteria for ASD. He is still medically fragile though and requires quite a bit of medical supports to function at this level and still has a chronically bloated belly (more about that in a later post). Anyway, I saw on Stan's website how diet cured chronic eczema for the indivuduals in the videos. My NT dd who is 6 has had horrible eczema for most of her life. We tried GFCF for 5 1/2 months without improvement. She has had an OAT and CDSA which were essentially normal with the exception of not enough beneficial flora (she noe takes Probiotics every night). My son was very restricted on SCD for 2 years (no eggs, nuts, dairy, seeds, beans, bananas due to high IgE allergies). This still did not clear his eczema. It took a prescription of Singulair plus diet to clear his up (he still has occassional flares but nothing too bad). Of course we have also tried Singulair with our dd without improvment. She had IgG testing a couple of years ago through Great SMokies which showed lots of very low IgG foods but few 1+, 2+, or 3+. It would be impossible to go SCD and eliminate all the very low IgG foods and still have a healthy diet with enough calories. She is on most of the supplements Stan suggests. Do you think I need to go very restricted SCD with her to clear her eczema? What about later adding potatoes, rice, or sweet potaotes? It is pretty difficult to talk a 6 year who is NT into a very restricted diet so I don't want to have to limit it any more than necessary. Thanks for the help, Meghan
