Guest guest
I thought I would take this time to discuss advanced directives. Sharon's father was in the hospital with bleeding from a foley catheter. He had a bladder infection. The Kaiser clinic kept sending him home. I guess it was their goal for him to die , because they did everything they could to insure that he did. I am so glad I don't have kaiser. So, after trying to keep his catheter flushed, but unsuccessful, his 80 yr old wife called 911. This was after being sent home repeatedly from their clinics. He passed out in the ambulance, so they took him to the nearest hospital. That non kaiser hospital stabilized him over the next 2 days, and then had to transfer him to a kaiser hospital. His wish was DNR or DO NOT RESUSCITATE. Later that morning (Friday) he was having a CT scan, and his heart stopped, and he stopped breathing. He was not wearing a DNR wristband. I do not know why. So began a rollercoaster ride for his wife and family. They called a full code blue, and did chest compressions, and used an ambu-bag to give him air, and they got him back. Folks it is SO important that when you are in the hospital, you make sure that you have advanced directives filled out, and that you are wearing the proper wristband. The man suffered for an extra 24 hours needlessly, because the brilliant doctors at this beautiful brand new kaiser hospital were too dumb to help him heal from a simple bladder infection, and in the end were so bumbling that they stopped him from dying when it was time. Please fill out advanced directives, and spare yourself and your family this awfull fate. And if you have kaiser, pray. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better Heartthrob. Get better relationship answers from someone who knows. Guest guest
Bob, I am so sorry. Medical bureaucracies are the reason our health care and medical system is so messed up. Hopefully it will change. Just FYI, I found out after Insoon died that you only have 30 days to file a malpractice claim.
