It seems to me that at one point 's potassium dropped low. This

especially can happen if the patient is taking diuretics to help control

ascites.

Low potassium can cause cramping as well as other, much more serious issues.

Check with the doctor (sorry, I sound like a broken record!). In the

meantime, add a banana and a few dried apricots to his diet each day, if

possible.
