Rabbit is some of the most healthy meat you can get. One because most of it

is home raised with no additives to the rabbits foods. Two it is very lean

meat, actually all white too. I love it.

Tastes like chicken. VBG

Subject: rabbit meat

I don't see anything in the book about rabbit meat. I've never tried any

but

lately seem to be meeting people that are raising rabbits for the meat.

Just

wondering if anyone knows anything about it. Is it considered a healthy

meat? Thanks -

, I agree with your first comment. But, because rabbit is so lean, it

is not healthy to make it a major part of your diet. The body needs much

more naturally saturated fats than rabbit can provide.

Whatever you say. U eat beef. I'll eat it all including rabbit. Like there

isn't a way to add fat to the diet except meat.

The reason rabbit is not healthy is because it is so lean! If you are

cooking it, saute it in lard and make a cream sauce. Sally

Please read my post again. I said it was not healthy to make rabbit a MAJOR

part of one's diet. I did not say that one should not eat it.

I've eaten domesticated rabbit all my life. It's very good,

naturally low-fat though so it's best cooked in a gravy so it doesn't

dry out.

I also eat venison (deer) quite often. There's some in my freezer

right now. Some are not fond of the taste but, properly processed,

it's very good. Venison is also very low-fat and must be prepared

differently than other meats.
