Yesterday I woke up with a stiff neck which was bearable but then as the day progressed so did the pain, right down from my neck to my right shoulder blade area. I tried biofreeze which is like an anti inflammatory cream, ibufrofen plus a hot bath all to no avail. I went to bed thinking that it would ease and I'd be fine by morning. How wrong was I. I spent all night in pain, uanble to move in bed let alone sleep properly. When I finally got up I was finding it very hard to move, yawn or even take a deep breath without severe pain. I went to see my gp who said it was muscle spasm and prescribed strong painkillers. These have eased the pain but made me feel really unwell. Feel spaced out. I do have CM1 and a syrinx but I can't remember where the syrinx lies. Could the dr be right in his diagnosis of muscle spasm or could it be more to do with the syrinx? Fortunately I do have an appointment tomorrow with a chiari specialist neurosurgeon but feeling rather unsure about the cause of this sudden onset of pain. Any ideas?
