Hi Rod,

I agree with Owen that diabetes mellitus is the most likely, it is the kind

of thing that fits in a general context like yours, but there are other

possibilities, including even " deficiencia mental " . Unless there is some

real basis for a choice, I always TN or query these things.

Burns

P.S. Some other things DM can mean below:

DM:.

Densitometría

Dermatomiositis.

Diabetes mellitus

Duramadre...

I didn't forget you . (How could I ever do that!)

Your messge arrived after I sent my thanks.

I take the opportunity to thank you and Lucia as well.

The translation has been delivered with a note saying that it is

*probably* Diabetes Mellitis but that I am not sure.

Hello Lúcia

I think Spanish hospital discharge summaries would be more likely to

include a reference to " no diastolic murmur... " under the physical

examination. I can't be one hundred per cent certain that it's not one of

the alternative renderings of DM that's correct here but when conditions

are reported as absent or present in the Antecedentes personales with the

full name given rather than the abbreviation without exception it's been

diabetes mellitus that I've come across.

Hi all,

I have one of those fantastic Hospital reports to translate from Spanish

to English.

I am not sure what the abbreviation " No DM " means. The full context is:

Antecedentes personales: No RAM. No DM. No HTA.

No RAM is no adverse reactions to medication.

No HTA is no high blood pressure.

No DM is ?¿?¿?¿?

For the time being I have put No Mental Deficiency but it is a wild

guess and I would like to more enlightened minds to consider the

situation.

Hi Rod,

No RAM=no reacciones adversas medicamentosas, in English no ADR (no

adverse drug reactions)

No DM=no diabetes mellitus, = in English, same as everyone indicated

No HTA=no hipertensión arterial, in English, no hypertension (no HT) or

no high blood pressure (as you indicate).

I would definitely put the words, rather than the abbreviations.
