Guest guest
Hi Lori, Welcome! I have found some quite substantial relief from fatigue by following the Hypoglycemic diet guidelines (low-carb) recommended by Dr. St Amand in his book " What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia Fatigue " He is the guy who first started treating FM patients with Guaifenesin. He says that hypoglycemia and FM often appear together. There is no way for me to know if it could be the case with you though. He also thinks that CFS and FM are the same disease, but I have no idea who is right there. The only thing I really don't agree with him on is his recommending people use Splenda and products like it. Someone else on this list pointed out how bad artificial sweeteners are for everybody - let alone people who are already struggling with health issues. I found that when I followed the dietary guidelines strictly I had an initial period of frontal headaches and continuous fatigue that lifted after about 9 days and then a more steady feeling of increased energy. You can't cheat even once though or you are back where you started from - I had some muesli when I was too sore and tired to cook and found myself flat on my back again. He recommends following it for about 2-3 months perfectly before trying to ad in some extra carbs. Trish (in Australia)
Guest guest
Not quite sure about the hypoglycemia and FMS... I have diabetes. which is hyperglycemia...the opposite condition.. I also have sjorgrens.. Which is a lot like CFS or FM but sometimes things do show up on your ana profile sub serum types..usually ssa and ssb. I only just found that recently and bam there they were the little inflammation markers!
