Guest guest
Bilateral C2 & C3 Pulsed Radiofrequency Ablation were the best thing I've done for the nerve pain that I've had for 15 years. Before that I tried medications, pt, maintaining a 2 pound limit for lifting, weekly deep tissue massage, deep breathing, daily jaccuzi, no bending/stretching/pulling, no working, no turning my neck left/right/up/down... Yet my nerve pain was hellish. I was unable to care for family or house, and I was in bed most of the time. I now have 20% of the nerve pain that I had before injection. The combination of injections, pro-nex traction, Aspen Collar & Neurontin works wonders for me! Percodan, Cymbalta, Lunesta & Zanaflex help my muscle pain. The Ablation Injections (also called nerve blocks) didn't help my neck muscle pain). I can now care of myself and my little kids. I can do a little cooking, housework & laundry. I went to TCI this month and they said it was fine for me to have done my three sets of injections. Each set lasted an average of 3 months on me. My pain clinic doctor said they usually last MUCH longer. But because I've had nerve pain for 15 years, and I have so much scar tissue in my C1 & C2, the injections don't last as long on me. My scar tissue buildup bends the injection needles during the ablation injections. My pain clinic doctor has recommended implanting a device to control the pain once this 3rd set of ablation injections wears off. I asked TCI and they said it's ok for me to go ahead and inplant the pain blocking device once this 3rd nerve block wears off. I'll be going back to TCI for a fusion and TCS. So hopefully the combination of a pain blocking device in the C1 area, a fusion surgery and TCS will get me off the prescription pills I've been taking for 15 years. And I think it will control my pain WAY better. Of coarse everyone is different. My circumstances made the nerve block injections ok for me. I first had MRIs, Xrays, Cat scans, CINE MRIs, neurologist consults, physical therapy consults, GPs, pain clinics, rheumatoid doctor approval... I pray you find the best answer for you! --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Yahoo! Search.
