I went to a kitchen gadget store for a shower gift and looked for the gravy separator that was mentioned earlier and didn't find on but I did get one of these jugs. I think I just screwed it up with the culturing.

Maybe next week's batch will work out OK.

An even easier way to make butter is to put the cream and milk in a blender and turn on low. It's butter.

have you ever seen a sun tea jar. it has a spout at the bottom of the gallon jug. store your milk in the jug and pour from the bottom..careful not to mix the milk when pulling out of the refrigerator. when you have used the milk to the cream line take the balance and make butter. simple way to make butter in this small volume is to make sure cream is at room temperature and fill a quart jar less than 1/2 full of cream..then shake..will take about 10 minutes of shaking to get butter. drop me a note if you have any questions
