I'm glad Hannah's first dose of MTX went smoothly. You're absolutely right

about worrying forever and it being a part of motherhood. I worry about both

my girls all the time, healthy or not, so I guess it comes with the package

:-) I'm sure making the decision to put her on MTX was very difficult, but

personally I think I'd feel better knowing she was being treated temporarily

(even if long term, probably not forever) with the drug rather than to think

she could have permanent damage, not to mention pain. Anyway, I wish you

all the best of luck and hope this will work for Hannah. She'll definitely

be in our thoughts and prayers. Take care,

Hi Wildes:

My daughter was on MTX for 2 years and she did lose some hair in the

beginning. But the drug can turn out to be very effective in Pauci/Poly type

JRA. My daughter is not on any medication now and her joints are free of

inflamation. In my opinion, treating JRA aggressively in the beginning, does

pay off. So hang in there and I am sure you will see some benefits from MTX.

God bless you and I wish you and your daughter well...

It doesn't amaze me at all. In fact, it seems like your other examples

demonstrate that this is normal human behavior, which is reassuring. If

all LPs started marching to the same tune and stopped debating each other,

then I would become very, very worried.

But you're doing your best to become the first, is that it? :)

It's very usual , commonly seen behaviour. it's also self-defeating

behaviour. :)

oh heck no. i have no barbs to toss. i think the best barbs come from people

who know each others weaknesses so intimately that they can spiff off an arrow

without even breaking a sweat. on the other hand, if the players in this game

take 150 years <and still counting, from the emancipation proclamation> then i

sincerely doubt that dwarves will see a change in the general knowledge database

of the average statured person.

Like i've said in many other situations, there are plenty of people who are

willing to shoot you in the foot, without doing it yourself.

Jeanine, I am praying for you and your family. This is some tale!

What a relief about your daughter. That is such good news. I hope she

never has another twinge.

Your son and husband are another story. I'm sure their problems have

been very stressful for you, especially since you aren't feeling all

that great.

I'm glad that the Humira still seems to be helping everything but your

hands. Tell me, are your hands sore more from the arthritis or from the

neuropathy? Was the neuropathy in your hands and feet present before

your back surgery? I think you said before that your neurologist said

that the Arava that you were on before didn't have anything to do with

it. Why was he so sure of that?

I hope this week is much, much better for you.

Dear Jeanine,

You certainly have my prayers. What a time! Glad some of you are

improving, and hope your husband makes a good recovery. I KNOW it

doesn't do any good to say " try to take it easy yourself " because you

just can't. Been there--done, uh, doing that! I will just offer you

a long-distance hug and much peace,

Judi

Thanks Kathy &

,

The neuropathy doesn't really cause me pain, my hands just tingle

constantly, and occasionly it is more intense, like your hands waking up

from a long sleep. The neuropathy started back in June, before the surgery.

I have been off of the arava for 3 1/2 weeks and it has not improved, so I

tend to think the dr was right. Unfortunately the pain in the hands is very

RA like. The wrist is red and swollen in the left hand and just sore in the

right.

On a good note, - Matt came home today and is doing much better. Still in a

lot of pain, but eating more than just broth. They say he will recover

pretty quickly. I envy him that!
