Guest guest
My friend gave me permission to share this recipe. It is sort of a cross between the biscuit and yoghurt dough recipes in Nourishing Traditions. She had been using the biscuit recipe to make breadsticks, and her kids would eat them, dipping them in soup, but they didn't really like them very well. After making these, her kids said that they tasted like the breadsticks at the Olive Garden, and gobbled them up before any of them made it to the soup to be dipped :-) Breadsticks 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1 1/4 cups yoghurt 4 Tbs. softened butter Mix together and leave in warm place overnight. Then add: 1 1/2 tsp. sea salt 1 tsp. baking soda 3 Tbs. raw honey Shape into breadsticks. Then mix some olive oil with whatever spices you like (like garlic or parmesan cheese, etc.) and brush over the top. If you don't do the olive oil, the tops will not brown. Cook at 350* for about 15 minutes, or whenever they are browned. Enjoy! :-) rochester@...~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Click here for the best diet and nutrition information you will ever find!www.westonaprice.org~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." -- Frederick s, August 4, 1857~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
