Thanks for the recommendations. I will check into that book. I did not know about the leukemia and thyroid connection. That actually makes me worry! LOL Hopefully everything is ok though. I should have blood test results soon. Medication is being delivered to me from Canada and I am so very excited about that! Yeah, maybe soon I will have some relief!

wow that is exciting to find out your local regular family Dr is so interested and involved in our health problems of thryodi/AF! great news!=i doubt you have leukemia= and thyroid patients can get weird blood tests cuz being Hypot etc affects all parts of the body; handle the Hypot and Adrenal Fatigue and other things Normalize :)that being said however, the leukemia and Thyroid problems in families connection is being noticed by the Alternative health world. iow some families that have autoimmunen thyroid patients also have separate relatives who have had leukemia. =i don't think most regular drs have ever heard of the stats/connectino on this; i know it was NOT mentioned during that Stand UP To Cancer prgram last year. my gram had Leukemia; the late adult onset one (diagnosed n her 70s)(the BUsh's SR/ both got Graves in their old age however they had a child in the ?40s? who did have childhood leukemia.btw, TCM Traditional Chinese medicine 'categorizes the body into different 'systems that contain Organs we recotnize :) but also include 'functions' etc.the "Kidney" meridian is considerred by many 'varieties of TCM to be the 'foundation of good health (not to say the HEart system or the liver system or the 3 Burner System ;) is not important :)but the TCM Kidney system /meridian includes:thryoid, adrnenals, SYmpathetic Nervous system, and the kidneys :) as well as our Electrolytes and the "energy system (Mitochondria etc) our Cells! as well as what they called "marrow" which is our spine/CNS and our Brain =including the concept of NEurotransmitters!!and= our bones including the "marrow of bones that is responsible for making a lot of componenets of our bloodand That is _i beleive_ where the Leukimia /thryodi connection comes in.anyone with a thryodi problem in the family shoudl know that - wheat/gluten grains are very bad and shoudl be avoided for a few reasons (malnutrition as well as the Immune system damage it causes to those who have those common genes) - Adrenal Fatigue is really a problem with our entire stress system = SNS and HPA Axis and all of its stress hormones; having those Increased 24/7/365 due to wheat/celic genes And/Or to the SAD standard american diet = does not help the Kidney meridian :) at all!. take the load off the body by changing the 'bad' daily things we are doing to it; Read Dr WIlson's book "Adrneal Fatigue" and follow the basic lifestyle guidelines he describes ; ez to understand and can be done (its mostly diet and understanding what lifestyle habits/ sleep exercise /stress management and mental habits that make or break the Stress system :0. take the load off the Stress system so it can work with the Immune system to keep Autoimmune, cancers and other health problems in check ..-Carol >> Ok I am so excited I just had to share my good news! > So I made an appt. with my family doctor this afternoon. I didn't much expect him to be able to help me, but I hoped he would. I printed out studies, brought copies of all my medical records and blood work and my basal body temperatures for the past month, as well as a list of symptoms to share. I brought some print outs from the www.stopthethyroidmadness.com website. > The doctor was awesome. He seriously read and looked through EVERYTHING I brought. My appointment lasted about an hour. He ordered more blood tests... tests for the Free T3, T4, Reverse T3, both antibody tests for Hashi's, a blood test for diabetes, Vitamin D deficiency test, TSH, he also ordered another CBC and platelets, as well as a blood smear test due to my low WBC count on my last blood work with the other doctor. He was very concerned that my T3 and T4 was so low and agreed that I have hypothyroidism and said it would be good to get me on thyroid meds as soon as possible. > I told him I had a preference for thyroid meds and he said, "Natural thyroid?" I said yes. He knew all about the Armour controversy and he had a way to get THYROID from Erfa in Canada. He put in a prescription for me for the natural desiccated thyroid from Canada! Yeah! He also said that based on the results from the blood smear test will determine further testing and a referral to a hematologist for my low WBC count. He wants to make sure we rule out leukemia, etc. He listened to me explain about the TSH level and how the lab should have been lower, he agreed, and he said that you could have a "normal" TSH and still be hypo. God bless him! He is also having me do a 24 hour saliva test. And this from a family doctor! > I am so glad I went to my appt. today! What a great doctor. I will be starting my thyroid med soon and it's exactly what I wanted and I finally feel like someone is listening to me! > > Thank you everyone for listening to me whine and complain. Praise God!> in Wa>
