I love this - I make it without the garlic as it makes me really unwell

and it still comes out well - the bay leaf and the mirin just create

magic!

Bay leaf, shoyu, mirin, it did have 1 clove garlic – and lots of

carrots – 1 cup lentils to 4 cups water, 4 carrots, 1 lg. Onion, 1 bay

leaf and a couple of tbsp. Each of shoyu and mirin (something like

that) benny off to get stitches right now – yippee!
