Sorry you're going through such a tough time right now. I completely

understand how you feel because I've been there, done that myself. You

could very likely be experiencing a herx, which is pretty unpleasant but

has the positive aspect of being a sign that the AP is stirring up a few

bugs and actually working for you. Sometimes just knowing this helps to

get through it. On the more practical side, try to be good with your

diet, drink tons of water and try to get as much rest as possible. You

could also up your nsaids for awhile, if you can tolerate them, but I

truly find the best thing to do when you feel rotten is recognize that

your body is telling you to rest and conserve your energy. It's not

easy to give in to feeling rotten when you want to get things done but

in reality, it's pretty hard to do a good job of anything when you feel

too awful to think straight. So, maybe your husband could help with the

taxes or maybe you could hire someone to do them this year (that would

probably be cheaper than making a big mistake because of brain fog).

Being overtired and hurting doesn't help your mood or outlook much,

either, so perhaps that would improve if you look upon this as a chance

to pamper yourself. Make a pot of your favorite tea, put a funny video

on and try to pretend you're a lady of leisure while you get a few

laughs. Remember, this treatment usually involved 3 steps forward, 2

steps back and unfortunately, you're doing the backstep at the moment.

This, too, shall pass and I'll bet you'll be feeling better again before

too long. Just be good to yourself in the meantime and SCREAM here when

you need some support.

Hugs,

a Peden

Oh , you poor kid!! I am so sorry you are in such pain. It was me who

developed Reynauds three months into the AP and without this group I wouldn't

have known what it was. But after being on the AP over a year with Reynauds it

has lessened and I rarely get an episode. I have days like you mention with

feeling so low and depressed but I'm lucky I don't have to go out to a job and

can rearrange chores for another day. I don't have much pain, but more

stiffness than anything so I'm not sure what to recommend for SD pain. I am

sure the SD folks here will have some good advice for you. You will have good

days again, be sure of it. It is just a challenge to get over this rough

patch. Try not to get too stressed out if you can. When you are new it is

easy to imagine all sorts of dire happenings with our bodies with these

diseases. You might just be having a flare.

If I can help in any way, or you just want to talk, just post me, okay?

:>))))))

Many hugs

Bev

Dear Bev and Group, One of the firmest beliefs my husband practices is that

Arrogance Goeth Before a Fall. I have been so upbeat on this net with you guys

that today, I feel I am living proof of that statement. After feeling like I

was doing really well, and I still think I am, I have spent the last two days

crying. I don't have reynauds but I think Trickey told me she came down

with reynauds three months after beginning the AP. I am SD. My hands and feet

remain warm after the AP but the pain is excruciating in my hands. I am back to

knocking myself out with the sleeping pill at night and the minute it wears off,

I am awake again. I walk around the house shuffling which is something I don't

do and just cry and cry. I am allergic to all meds with morphone derivative

ie., darvon, darvocet, demerol etc. This is the time I so wish I were closer to

Dr. Sinnott so I could make an appointment and go in and just scream do

something! After rereading Maurene 's story in chapter 4 of THE ROADBACK

which I purchased just in order to read her actual story since she was so

terribly stricken with SD and I need that as my star in the east to focus on, I

am certain she must be correct in that she stated after the started the AP, it

appeared that the disease accelerated for quite some time before slowing down.

This would be consistent with you, , and my pain being so excruciating in

an area before not there. So now after I have made all of you feel so terribly

sorry for me, do any of you have any suggestion for the pain? If it is

something I can tolerate, I can call this doctor here, who knows NOTHING about

how to treat this but is now learning, and get a prescription so I can cope. I

can't give in to this as I am already overdue to monthly, quarterly and yearly

tax reports at the office as I have been in such a brain fog I could not figure

out how to do reports I have been doing for years, even after going back and

looking at those I have done before with ease, just could not do it. It was like

the disease was in that part of the brain. Bob, my husband, is just great and

says do them when I feel like it and we will just pay all the penalties but I

DO have to get to work and do something. Any suggestions you have would be so

greatly appreciated. This episode makes me so very, very grateful for the AP

and for all of you. Without the AP, I would be looking at a lifetime of this

and to be truthful, Dr. Kvorkian might start to looking pretty darn good down

the road! Without you, I would be traveling without a flashlight. Pretty

scarey. I love all of you. Now I have grown maudlin.

Dear ,

It wasn't me that told you I had reynauds, (I had to look up what it

was), but I do suffer from cold hands and feet though not to a serious

extent. HOWEVER, you can be sure I've had many a days like your having

today. Sometimes it can be truly overwhelming. The brain fog is what I

find most frustrating and sometimes you do just have to rest and try

another day to do something that takes concentration. Wish i knew what

to tell you about the pain. I take ultram and while it never gets rid of

the pain it has made it managable.Feel free to write me directly if you

want, and let me know how you're doing. Hugs and prayers for you,

T.

You sound so miserable, Tess! I hope you can improve soon. I really

don't want to hear that you had to go to the hospital.

Sweet Tess, we're here whenever you just need to talk. I'll say a prayer of

strength for you about Em, and of course prayers that you feel better soon.

I don't like the fact that you're not going to the bathroom in spite of

drinking so many fluids. , a? Is that bad?

I love you, dear. Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Love and hugs,

Carol

Hi...my chest feels so heavy, and when I cough I go into huge spasms

that are chokey. I've been drinking lots of juice and water, but don't

go potty much, so I guess I really do need the fluids. Now my wrists

have swollen a great deal and flared up just a week from Remicade.

I'm going to watch Survivor. Em is here, but will be gone all weekend.

She NEEDS to do that, so please say a prayer that my being-sick emotions

don't get the better of me.

I don't even know what to say, I just needed to " talk " to you all.

Tess I¹m sorry you¹re feeling so bad. If you¹re drinking and not going

potty, maybe you are retaining fluids.

If it keeps up you should call your doctor. Stay warm and toasty and keep

up with the fluids.

Tess,

If you're whiney, I'm cheesy! (that's supposed to be funny--cue the

laugh now!)

Seriously, sorry you're feeling so bad. Not fair at all. Would

copious amounts of hot herbal tea help? I've been drinking so much

tea I asked Fred if he could move the computer into the restroom.

Keeping the prayers coming,

Judi

((((((((Tess)))))))))) After all the whining I've done here I am

glad to return the favor. I do hope you feel less out of sorts in

the morning. And hope you feel better.

Hi Sweetie,

Gosh, I hope that you are feeling better. Bleeding is nothing to fool around

with. At least let the doctor know. I, of all people, understand that you

are probably afraid that if you call him and tell him of your latest

development, he will tell you to run, not walk over to your local ER.

Sometimes, though, that is where we belong (I can't believe that I actually

wrote that!).

Get some rest, my friend and I will be praying that you start feeling better

soon.

Gentle, tender, feel better, angel hugs,

Love ya,

Debs
