From what I have picked up on the web, It is a generic test that can mean

many things like inflammation or infection, but not specific to any part of

the body, it could be anywhere. Not to scare you by they look at that when

pondering if someone is suffering cancer. and if so then it would be sky

high,...

It could just be your lupus.acting up.. or RA or other inflammatory process.

How they measure it..they draw a certain amount of blood and put in a test

tube.and measure how thick the whitish/clear band is at the top of the blood

after a certain time period. what they are looking for is the number of RBC

that have died off and settle at the bottom as sediment. leaving the plasma

at the top.

Anyhow that's how I understood it.
