Guest guest
For me, vertigo is temporary but only responds to me lying down and sleeping. Even if I have to take a sleeping pill during the day. Of course, with a 15 month old, I can't just sleep all day anymore, but we can stay in my bedroom and she can play while I at least rest. One thing, if you get vertigo and one time you get it is extremely severe, just be prepared. For me in 2002, that was a sign I was coming down with West Nile Virus, which almost killed me. I didn't even get proper medical care because I was so terrified of the local hospital after the damage they had done to me at least twice (it was in a rural area and they let two friends of mine drop dead waiting when they had heart attacks and strokes). The next nearest hospital, 45 minutes away, was no good, either, and that was the source of what is like PTSD in me, terror of doctors and nurses. By the time I got to my doctor, then in Chicago, he wanted to do a spinal tap because a blood test for it is not conclusive, but I couldn't afford it, I couldn't get someone to watch my dogs and my husband was in CT already. We ended up losing the house and moving out in a hurry on Christmas Eve, because he could get a day or two off and come and " collect " me. We almost lost our dogs, but fate intervened several times. It was hell. I don't even remember much for about a year and a half, because my memory was shot by absolutely no sleep for that entire time. I can't believe a person can survive on so little sleep. I still have parts of my body that hum or tingle all the time because they were paralyzed from the disease, that's on top of the usual humming and tingling in my arms, legs, and feet and hands. Just watch out for a sudden onset or a worsening of vertigo
