Guest guest
oh neti pots are great! Yes - when you are congested it can be hard to do - you may want to try a saline spray for those times or even better try a Buteyko control pause. you gently breathe out and then hold your breath OUT while pinching your nose closed. Then gently release when you feel the first sign that you need to take a breath. If you have any health issues don't try a maximum pasue without supervision or training - otherwise just extend the breath hold comfortably but just beyond when you want to take a breath. the important thing for both is to breath normally or less than normal in volume and reapidity when you finish - you can do a few in a row after a lminute or so between them. this raises the nitric oxide levels in the nose which naturally opens the channels and reduces congestion. Mouth breathing and overbreathing or even hiddne hyperventilation causes conjestion asa natural defence against loosing too much carbon dioxide gas which is essential to allow oxygen to leave its bonds with the red blood cells so it can oxygenate the body. otherwise the O2 just travels round the body on the red blood cell train but cannot get off at the station and the body has reduced oxygen - this affects every system in the bdoy which is why this breath retraining is so powerful for all conditions Buteyko breathing is one such method and Frolov is another www.intellectbreathing.com then you can do the neti rinsing! sarah nelsen wrote: neti pots with salt water are supposed to be good, too. i keep meaning to get started using mine, and then it's too late, my allergies are full blown and there is no way i can get water to run thru my nose! --- susanneguirakhoo wrote: > I have been feeling my spring time allergy starting to flare up > again. > It is nothing totally debilitating, but my eyes start to itch and > get > red and swollen (this is the most annoying, because I wear contacts > and work on the computer a lot), scratchy throat, sneezing...
