Michele, I am Hashimoto's and my TSH is .04 on Armour thyroid. My fibro symptoms went away when I went on a gluten free diet....not an easy diet to adhere to, but with guidance a two week trial would not be difficult to try and see if the aching goes away. It was an eye-opening experience for me. Sincerely, Joancorcoran121 wrote: I been having

fibromyalgia like symptoms for the last three weeks. I was diagnosed with chronic thyroidis (hashimoto)last Sept. The right side of my thyroid was removed because I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. As a thyroid cancer patient, they have my TSH levels very low, borderline hyper. Has anyone had any similar symptoms? Is it from the Hashimoto or perhaps the hyperthyroid state. All my doctors indicate that they believe it is viral but my gut tells me otherwise. Thanks so much for your help!Michele

Have you had your Vitamin D levels checked? My Endo put me on 5000mg of D and doubled my Vitamin B after checking my blood levels. Turns out had no stores in my body of either. I've never had either of those checked by a doctor and they seem to make as big a difference in how I feel than the Synthroid & and Cytomel. Just a thought because I too was achy and sore before I started these. Google it and see what you think.

I had my levels checked in September and my doc said they were low.

Since then I have been taking a multi vitamin as well as Calcium with

Vitamin D. I was sore at that time and the Vitamin D helped!

I am more than just sore, I am in a lot of pain. I went to see my

OB Gyn, and a Rheum. and all my results came back negative. My TSH

level is .15 so it is low. Both doctors have said that these

symptoms can be caused by the low TSH. I have asked the Endo to

tweak my meds.

I am going to take Joan's advise and try to go gluten free and see if

that helps.

Thanks for replying!

I have Hashimoto Thyroiditis but both my Ob Gyn and the Rheum. have

said that I do not have Fibromyalgia. At my last visit to the Endo,

she said is sound more viral than thyroid related. I am achy and my

joints hurt. My TSH is very low as I had Thyroid cancer. I have asked

the Endo to increase my dose in an effort to relieve the symptoms.

Is it common to have Hashi, and Fibromyalgia? I haven't read much about

any connections. I have read that there are connections between Lupus

and Fibromyalgia. I tested negative for Lupus antibodies.

I have both Hashimoto's and Fibro. I was at the Rheumatologist and I had 14 of the 18 tender points. I suffer daily from both.

I am sorry that you had a stomach virus.

I won't be answering much onlist. I lost one of my cats after he ate the food before it was recalled. If you need me email me privately at jerseygirl0329@...

Hi,

I haven't posted in a LONG while, but to answer this question, I have

Hashimoto's and Fibromyalgia. I was dx'd w/Hashi's in 1983 and dx'd

w/Fibro in 1994, testing positive for all 18 points. The fibro went

into remission for 5 years, 1998 to 2003, and then came back when I

had a car accident. I lucked out -- I have one of the best

rheumatologists in the country, Dr. Sack at UCSF in San Francisco --

I think he said that the fibro could be a progression of the hashi's

but he says just about EVERYTHING with the words " could be " -- since

the definitive findings are scarce for fibro.

I have developed other health issues and quite a few docs I've run

across over the years seem to feel they're progressions of the

hashi's. And yep, I'm in pain -- daily and right now, as a matter of

fact! ;-) I cannot taking most pain meds -- I take TyCo 4 as much

as I can, until I get bad reactions from that... I would recommend

being tested by a doc who knows what they're doing for fibro --

chronic " soreness " can come from many different sources and like

someone else posted, fibro pain is not " soreness " but PAIN (sorry for

the yelling -- it's a rough day today)...

Best, Willis
