Guest guest
Hi, My daughter was on Valtrex (250mg x 2, liquid form) for about 26 days (ran out though it was suppose to last 30 days). She was slightly lethargic for a couple of days and slightly warm on the second day. Besides that, nothing much. We stopped for about a week waiting for the refill. We restarted Valtrex with 250mg x 2, then increased to 500mg x 2 after about a week. She was lethargic. Then we added Nystatin after 4 days. (Nystatin instead of Diflucan because her liver enzyme is slightly elevated and since she has oxalate issues, we can't give her milk thistle.) She is super lethargic, obsessive, aggressive. Any idea what is causing these bad behavior? I am not seeing improvement yet. Should I reduce dose? Stop something or continue? Is there any supporting supplement I should use while using valtrex and nystatin? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Guest guest
That sounds like yeast that your nystatin isn't taking care of. Personally I would still push through with the Diflucan or Nizoral and spread out your Valtrex over three times a day. You might want to add some liver life. Oxalates are typically caused by FUNGUS. The fungal issue seems strong here. If that were my child I would either push through a bit or maybe back off the Valtrex a bit while you get the fungus under control. Maybe alternate the antifungal and Valtrex every other day... something that includes both of these therapies but makes you comfortable with the liver enzymes being raised. It sounds like they are not raised that much... maybe push through a bit and monitor them closely? There are many options. I'm just sharing ideas.. but it sounds like the fungus is winning right now and the entire strategy may work or fail based on the fungus being under control. - Stan > > Hi, > > My daughter was on Valtrex (250mg x 2, liquid form) for about 26 days > (ran out though it was suppose to last 30 days).
