Guest guest
It's fundamentalism--in any religion, in anything--that destroys. The stickiness of the lower chakra. I've followed the fundis for a long time. They're pure stealth, organized stealth, stealth that won't be stopped and can't be talked to. They hid from the coasts, the cities, and worked the small Cotton-Mather-friendly US towns that became the Red States. They accomplished it with hate: saying they were the persecuted, that we hated them (and we didn't and DON'T: freedom of religion is for everyone. They can believe anything as long as it doesn't harm or force another to believe--and vive la difference!) establishing the 'other' as the demon inhabited non-saved. Everything that worked for Hitler worked for them. They were just people, as they are now, in the thrall of something. I saw them because I'd grupped in Wash DC, then moved to the Midwest. I was their " other. " I saw them in the schools, the attitudes, the Stepford mom's. The towns where if you didn't belong to the big mall church, you were shunt. Halloween disappeared in stages from school; first the alt.halloween Harvest Party for the dissenters--then it just ended. Was gone. New principals and school board members saw to it: stealth Fundi's made it a point to take over those positions. Harry Potter (--and bless Harry Potter, and now Igby of Igby Goes Down (see this movie! That the oscar's ignored it was political), the phantasms who speak truth to children. For Art is Magic... ) was burned. The fine upstanding people simply burn things... and like the Phoenix, the burned are only perfected. By this time, they'd taken over the media. Hate radio thrived, and now we have FOX news with the vast unwashed secular tuned to it. If it wasn't for the internet and access to foreign papers, we'd know nothing. When the internet goes down--remember we have each other always. Don't let anyone snuff your soul. Leave messages in books. Stick-it notes in the grocery store. *Quietly, don't comply.* The Greens. It wasn't the time for Nader to step in. He was used and played against the moderates. If we really want to go Green, it's in our power already: just stop buying their shit. When your brother-in-law buys the SUV, mention often that it pollutes, what it costs. Be willing to be no fun. If we would live Green, each of in our daily lives, we would be Green. We don't need a leader to make us do what's right. Stop buying their phantasms. I once got to speak to Rosmus http://www.ailf.org/notable/arosmus.html, and she told me that the Nazi's really never went away. Nor did they repent at Nuremberg. The concentration camps were in every town: not death camps, but work camps, full of the 'enemy.' The Nazi's will never go away as long as people don't think, as long as they are in the thrall of tribalism rather than individuation. As long as Fundamentalism freezes a soul in the lower chakra. It's a collective thing. And so we answer it with its polar opposite: Love. Trust. Jung wrote just before his death (and this, mateys, is what Jung was about: not parlor games for rich folk on couches... but shaking off fundamentalism; to help us incarnate spirit, open the heart--to go blooming like a rose) : " [...] None believes in the blossoming and unfolding of the individual as the experimental, doubtful, and bewildering work of the living God, to whom we have to lend our eyes and ears and our discriminating mind, to which end they have been incubated upon for millions of years and brought to light since about 6,000 years ago, viz. at the moment when the historical continuity of consciousness became visible through the invention of script. " We are sorely in need of a Truth or a self-understanding similar to that of Ancient Egypt, which I have found still living with the Taos Pueblos. Their chief of ceremonies old Ochwiay Biano (Mountain Lake) said to me : 'We are the people who live on the roof of the world, we are the sons of the Sun, who is our father. We help him daily to rise and to cross the sky. We do not do this for ourselves, but for the Americas also. Therefore they should not interfere with our religion. But if they continue to do so (by missionaries) and hinder us, then they will see in ten years the sun will rise no more.' He correctly assumes that their day, their light, their consciousness and their meaning will die, when destroyed through the narrow-mindedness of American Rationalism, and the same will happen to the whole world, when subjected to such treatment. " That is the reason I tried to find the best truth and the clearest light I could attain to, and since I have reached my highest point and can't transcend any more, I am guarding my light and my treasure, convinced that nobody would gain and I myself would be badly, even hopelessly injured, if I should lose it. It is the most precious not only to me, but above all to the darkness of the creator, who needs man to illuminate his creation. If God had foreseen his world, it would be a mere senseless machine and Man's existence a useless freak. My intellect can envisage the latter possibility, but the whole of my being says 'No' to it.
