It's not new. It is called a PPD test. I had my first

one back in the late 70's and I just had one done last

year as part of my EN testing. However I never had one

" blow up! " Mine was just a small lump and then it was

gone. Below is a link (I hope it shows up as a link)

to a description.

That is very interesting....Thanks for sharing it with us. I have never had the test, but I don't understand why with EN that they don't automatically test for it.

Anyway, interesting thing yesterday . . . I was fingerprinting a guy yesterday (I fingerprint substitutes and new teachers as part of my HR job) and he was telling me as part of getting his job he had to have a TB test. He told me they didn't do the punch thing, but actually stuck a needle just under his skin and injected something. He said it blows up like a blister and he showed me it as it was yesterday . . . it looked like one of our very angry lumps! He says it's a false positive; he believes he let it get infected . . . I have a feeling it's a positive! I wanted to ask him a bunch of questions

like 'have you ever gotten lumps in your legs?!?!' but I didn't. Anyway . . . thought that was interesting . . . wanted to share.Have a great day!M
