Neutrophils are white blood cells that fight infection.  They can be elevated

from infection, inflammation or certain cancers.  Low counts can be caused by

aplastic anemia, leukemia, and side effects from medications, particularly

chemotherapy.

In November my neutrophils were very, very low.  Normal starts at 1.8 and mine

was 0.05.  Now, I had bloodwork done in January and they rose to 1.3.  I am

getting bloodwork done in April because I'm going to my rheumy.  So I'll see if

they went up.  But I didn't have anemia or leukemia or nothing.  It just

happened.
