Guest guest
Hi everyone, we are back from our sleep study at mayo.Lee my husband has severe sleep apnea. They had all these wires hooked up to him so they could monitor him on the computer,I stayed all night at the hospital so I could get all my questions answered about what was happening. I was told Lee was waking up about44 times an hour,or several hundred times a night. This was very important because this may be why he sleeps most of the day, because he does not get any rest when he sleeps. So they kept us an extra night to monitor him again with a machine to help him breath better,WOW... What a differance. The computer showed his breathing was perfect and he never moved at all and never even got up to go to the bathroom the techs said it was better then they had expected. We came home and they delivered the breathing machine to us.The sad thing is Lee could only sleep with it on for a couple of hours because he was not uses to it.The good thing is that the next day he woke up at 1;00 in the afternoon had lunch went to bed as he always does BUT STAYED AWAKE TILL 10:30 AT NIGHT,BECAUSE HE WAS RESTED.I'M so glad we did this,no this will not stop the progression of his diseases, but it is nice that he seems to have more energy, the last 4 days. Hope it continues to help. THANKS FOR BEING THERE Misty10408
