Guest guest
Well tempeh is Indonesian and natto and tamari are Japanese. However, the person is clearly being a very suspicious reader. While temph may not be directly related to Chinese food production techniques, the others clearly are. And the text says nothing about the foods actually being Chinese, it merely takes examples of things that were created in this tradition. sounds like the guy is looking for excuses to disagree. Guest guest
We didn't say they were chinese--we said "like" chinese. We know these foods by their Japanese names (Although I think "tempeh" may be from Indonesia) but the chinese were the first to ferment the soybean.
