In a better world, insurance companies and HMOs would also be required

to have internet reviews posted publicly, easily accessible, no sign up

needed. I wonder how long the health insurance system would survive, if

people could check up on what services are actually received for the

premiums they pay. One reason health care is so bad is doctors are

afraid to order too many tests because it will endanger their status as

approved docs with the insurance companies.

HMOs are, of course, even worse. But if we could read up on how much

denial of care they do, that would go a long way to allowing people to

be informed health care consumers.
