Hi I just found your note. I know a lot of people stay on diflucan through the course of treatment. We have our best success with taking breaks and then doing the natural rotation of anti-fungals which involves oreganol and garlic. The hardest part is that these are really yucky supplements. We also rotate in Nystatin and Kirkman's yeast aide. Grapefruit seed extract is way to strong and destroys everything for us so we avoid it. Everyone worries about the liver side effects of diflucan. I have never heard of any child actually getting to the point of liver problems (not to say that it could not happen) -- the real concern seems to be as you found the loss of good bacteria and overgrowth of bad. I am not sure if you tried this with probiotics -- but one tip I picked up on that works well is a 4-day rotation of 4

different brands of probiotics. We do each probiotic for 4 days and then switch to the next one. It really has seemed to help us. Among our favorites are Threelac, Theralac, Kirkman's Probio Gold and Klaire's Theracomplete. Like I said, we will use these 4 for several months and then switch to another 4. Also, make sure you keep them refridgerated. Actually can not use the Theralac because it has lemons, but you get the idea. I use the Theralac. Best wishes Vera One thing that someone suggested on wrote: Hello Stan, Vera, and DR, Thank you so much for responding - this has really been a trying time for us! We are going to stay with the Valtrex - and yes, we're sure that it's yeast that's flaring up. Recent stool analysis showed Candida Lambica as a potential pathogen that is effectively resistant to Diflucan (but fortunately sensitive to Nystatin and Nizoral). He was on Nystatin for the 1st three months of biomedical intervention, Transfer Factor for the next two, and Diflucan for the last three months - corresponding with the first two weeks of Valtrex. The latest stool analysis also showed a zero growth of any good bacteria - after nine months of probiotics. So we (along with our DAN! Dr.) decided to lay off of the antifungal. He's taking a capsule of Oil of Oregano now with meals. We'll try switching over to Goldenseal in a week or so, and then Garlic after that. Since we've been off of the antifungal and increasing the probiotics we've noticed much more normal bowel movements. We're really worried about building up resistance. We're also doing chelation right now - and know that this can also exacerbate yeast (Great!). Nizoral will be our last resort treatment if the yeast gets out of control. But for now we'll stay the course. We are so amazed at the steady gains from the Valtrex. Again, Thank you so much, Stan! __________________________________________________
