Jo,

I've never read the details of the Beckett

waiver, but as far as I know " Behavior Modification

Therapy " or anything along that line is not service

that is covered. Speech, OT, PT, etc are on the list

of services covered that DFACS gave me when I applied.

One of the ways we thought about getting around this

was to find an ABA therapist who was a licensed speech

therapist, OT, etc and have them bill the ABA hours as

speech or OT --- the kicker is that the provider has

to be set up to bill medicaid directly, individuals

cannot do this. All of the ABA therapists I've met

are on their own and not set up as a medicaid provider

(which I can't blame them because from what I've been

told it takes forever and a day to get paid by

medicaid).

We're going to have to push our legislators to help us

get this waiver changed. Hopefully Lesli can get

Senator Mike Polak behind us and get us going in the

right direction.

Wish I had better news. Have a good weekend :)
