Guest guest
Tell us why positive thinking is important to you? Positive thinking is important to me because I truly believe it is the only way to make any lasting changes in my life. I need to learn to accept myself and love myself. I think that positive thinking and affirmations will help me to do this. 1) Your name, email address, nickname ~ We do NOT care if you use a fake name, but please be consistent and use the same name all of the time! Nickname - airdaisy; also go by Annie Email Name (for group members to know) - adow@... Email Address (you will use for group members to see) - adow@... 2) Are you currently under stress & needing tools for handling the stress better? Please explain. I am currently under stress and will begin seeing a therapist on Thursday. I have been having anxiety almost constantly and panic attacks periodically. This was brought on by medication taken for atrial fibrillation which I had for the first time on May 18. I am now taking a SSRI but believe that I can't be fully cured until I attack the underlying issues. I need to learn positive self-talk. 3) What type of group are you looking for, & what do you expect to get out of this group? I am looking for a group where I can give and receive support to others who are determined to live their lives in a positive, affirming way. 4) What resources, knowledge, or experience do you feel that you can contribute back to this group? I am generally able to help others see the positive side of a situation. I have firm beliefs that positive self-talk and optimism lead to healthier lives. 5) IF INTERESTED, tell us the month & day of your birthday, so we can add you to our birthday card list & Calendar. (optional) I was born April 22nd. 6) Please let us know if you mind an occasional card or newletter to your email address or not? Birthday Cards: Yes ___x__ No _____ Newsletters or Group News: Yes __x___ No _____ Hide address from Group Members: Yes _____ No __x___ 7) Please let us know if the information you give us in reply to this letter is strictly for the moderators, OR to give out to the group members? Either way is fine, but just let us know. You may share any of my responses with the group as you see fit. 8) *** This Affirmations Group is a safe haven for those who need support and a better life. Some of our rules are: no putdowns of other group members (or moderators), no unclean language or cussing, no arguing between members, no attachments, and lots of support for other members when they need it. In other words, if you aren't going to say something nice, please don't say it at all! ** Are you willing to abide by and keep all the rules in #8 (above)? Yes __x___ No ______ Do you have any problems with keeping these rules? If so, please explain in detail which rules, and why. Rules sound good to me. 9) Any other suggestions, comments, or questions about this group? Not yet, but I will surely let you know. 12) We will keep any info confidential that you ask us to. We just thought that we could help the group better if we knew more about what the members wanted, & their backgrounds. Okay.
