Guest guest
Knife like rashes on the body without anybody scratching to make them occur is, according to my homeopath, a sign of something being off in the autonomic nervous system - ie, sympathetic vs parasympathetic. If you have not already, a good place to get decent overall body support and methylation support PRIOR to taking on viruses, would be to take a look at Amy Yasko's website www.autismanswer.com. You don't want viruses to overrun your child's body without first ensuring that you have adequate means in place of escorting them out. There are bad stories of regression from viruses out there, depending on your particular genetics and your inherited immune system. I don't want to unnecessarily alarm you but am just talking from experience here. Guest guest
Gayatri, Thank you for your message. I am new to the group and have just started my son on Valtrex (we are on day 3). I'm a bit concerned about starting any new protocal, but my DAN assured me that Valtrex was very safe. I still have some reservations and would like to hear about any " warning signs " I should look for. We are waiting on the results of the Yasko genetic test, but went ahead and started the Valtrex. Did I jump the gun? Do you think I should stop and start at a later time? I appreciate any advice you can give. thanks! Guest guest
Hi : Its a spectrum and its hard to tell where you are at until you begin to treat. Hopefully your DAN is confident about what Valtrex can do for your child. Overall Valtrex would be safe except for the few that it isn't, you know what I mean? My clue in hindsight about my son's viral load should have come from his frequent illnesses as a child. A lot of colds, coughs and fevers which also meant that he did not have a strong immune system. A few fevers are good, none is not good either, as the body might not be recognizing the viruses and launching an appropriate immune response. Sorry I don't have any definite answers for you. Since I am very conservative and cautious now about what goes into my son since we have had some scary moments and times, I tend to go slow and sure. Personally if I had to do it all over again I would not jump the gun, but this would depend on your child's history and your own personal issues. Good luck with what you decide. Glad you are doing the genetics, it always helps to be better informed.
