Guest guest
I ordered the NCD natural cellular defense drops last spring and my 5 year old started talking. He has a long way to go but he can say "I want juice.", etc. 3 drops twice daily. KristyMy 3.5 year old autistic son is completely non-verbal. We are on the Valtrex/ Diflucan protocol, CLO, Zinc, Magnesium Sulfate, multi-vitamin, PhosChol, 2 different kinds of probiotics, and MB-12 with folinic nasal spray. While eye contact, appropriate play and imitation skills have definitely improved (we still have a ways to go), his speech is still missing. By the way, we never saw any fevers or other symptoms that the Valtrex was "working", just steady improvement in several areas. The only rashes we have seen were very light "dotted-looking" rashes that still seems to come and go around his groin. He jabbers incoherantly quite a bit, and has no apparent oral motor problems. He receives speech, OT and PT as well as several hours of individual ABA therapy each week. We tried the GF/CF diet for 6 months, with little improvement, and we saw absolutely no regression of any kind when we took him off the diet. He has never had any toubles with his bowels, before or after the diet. I feel like maybe our next step should be chelation? Is anyone else doing chelation along with Valtrex? Any other suggestions or advice from anyone else who has had success with a non-verbal child? I really appreciate your input - Thanks! Guest guest
I assume you have a DAN doc. I think the doctor should guide you into what to do next and do some testing first if necessary.samsmom032003 wrote: My 3.5 year old autistic son is completely non-verbal. Guest guest
We have been doing Valtrex + DMPS chelation for almost 10 months (chelation for 12 months). is thriving and chelation has really helped his fine motor skills. Guest guest
No I did it on my own. It has a recommended dosage but you have to play around. Some kids do well on one drop twice daily. Too late in the day and it kept him up. Also, too much and he was hyper. At the right dose for him he was in a great mood. I saw changes in language within 2 weeks. Guest guest
We've started using this w/my youngest (age 3). He is also non-verbal. While he is not talking, he is making sounds that he never made before like " sss " and occasional words like " hi " " bye " " gaga " (for Dada) have been popping out here and there. We are only at 2x/day but we are working our way up to 3. My oldest (age 5) is also non-verbal. Last year, he did cranial sacral therapy for about 6 weeks. During that time, actual words came out of his mouth and he read single words from books. Long story short, we had to stop and the words stopped also. I am trying to locate another therapist in my area so we can start up again. I have read on other boards other people who have also had luck w/cranial sacral and their children becoming verbal. Guest guest
Hi Kristy, Have you added dmg or tmg? I know alot of non- verbal kids who responded to dmg BIGTIME! Also, just a thought passed that the nasal spray could have thimerosol in it?I have no idea but was thinking of inhalers having it.Yasko's test will tell you what pathways are blocked and how to get around those.
