Guest guest
HI, my son is on day 30 of Valtrex - with some definite gains - but usually within 30 minutes of taking it his behavior really deteriorates. Aggression is our biggest struggle - and it is really aggravated. Has any one seen this as part of the healing regression? Will he lose the gains he's made if we stop the Valtrex? Thnak you,
Guest guest
its been a long time since my son started valtrex...but he had major, major headaches. Don't know if that helpswillilaura2004 wrote: HI, my son is on day 30 of Valtrex - with some definite gains - but usually within 30 minutes of taking it his behavior really deteriorates. Guest guest
We had MAJOR screaming fits and aggression. Turns out he had bacteria and yeast. We removed the Valtrex and put him on Goldenseal. It worked amazingly well for the fits, almost instantaneous. We are using No Phenol for the yeast and that is helping also. Guest guest
-- What are you using to keep bacteria and yeast under control? Are you on diflucan and probiotics? Also, have you checked the stool for bad bacteria? Verantkjmt wrote: DR-Are you back on the valtrex? Also, what does the goldenseal do?Molly>> We had MAJOR screaming fits and aggression. Guest guest
We're not back on Valtrex. I'm hesitant because of the intensity of his yeast and bacteria flare-up. Now that the yeast and bacteria appear to be under control, it is clear that he retained the gains that he made on the Valtrex. I'm undecided if we are going to go back on or not. The goldenseal has berberine in it. It helped fight his yeast and bacteria. For him, it was better than Diflucan or Nizoral. We are also really concentrating on getting a high count of probiotics in him because his latest lab showed an absence of any good bacteria. Guest guest
If that were my child, I would keep going, just go slowly if that is more comfortable for you. The yeast and bacterial flares are part of the healing process in this case. We see it quite often. You can try to control it with Diflucan or Nizoral, but either way I would keep at it until your child is recovered. - Stan > > > > > > We had MAJOR screaming fits and aggression. Guest guest
Do you use B6? We can induce tantrums in our daughter if we miss a couple of B6 doses. Like night and day. Chewable B6 w/Magnesium seems to work best for us. Good Luck. > > > > We had MAJOR screaming fits and aggression. Turns out he had > bacteria and yeast.
