I want a storm named after me..

It looks like we might have another hurricane headed this way. Already in the past year we have had 4: Isabell, Bonnie, Charley and Gaston. Right now Hurricane Ivan, currently a Category 5 and perhaps strengthing (that is it has ground winds of up to 160 miles per hour). It is still a long way off and shouldn't get here to Virginia until mid to late next week. How strong it will be when, and if, it gets here, remains to be seen. If it goes into the Gulf Of Mexico, it should be pretty weakened by the time it gets here. If it goes east of Florida, however, it might have a straight shot at us. Forecasts for its exact track are still up in the air due to how long out it is, but they also conflict from site to site. The Weather Channel shows it heading more out into the Gulf, while the national hurricane site shows it coming up the

middle of Florida, with a good margin for error on either side. Still this is a nasty one and one I am worried about. That's probably not uncommon for an Aspie to get fixated on something and have trouble letting it go, however. I am taking what precautions I can to protect the house, but it remains to be seen how well I have guessed and how strong the storm is, if it gets here. Remember, we're all in this together. It behooves us to be supportive of one another and to participate fully in all this group has to offer. Zoologist AdministratorFAM Secret Society

Under the links page in the News and Weather folder I have added a

link to the National Weather Service's Tropical Presiction Center's

National Hurricane Center.

You can now track any hurricane that may be heading for the U.S. It

gives up to the minute information.

Tom,

Thanks. I have been using that and other sites to keep track of these storms. The problem now seems to be that they don't all agree on where the storm is going. They say after it hits Jamaica they'll have a better idea and that will be late tomorrow. After that I'll start paying more attention. OF course, I say I won't look but I know I will.
