Guest guest
I am new to this group. I am 48 years old and am a walking train wreck as my doctor calls me. He is an absolute God Send to me. He takes very good care of me. When I get the least bit depressed, he is talking to me and letting me cry. I really do love my doctor. About 2 years ago, I started getting these headaches, they weren't anything like I heard a migrane should be, they started in my neck and lower head. Then they would consume the whole head, I get this pressure like someone has their hands in my head and pushing outward. The pounding and the blurred vision and the dizziness are unbearable. I would lay down and talk myself into relaxing. Sometimes they last up to 3 days and other times they last for a couple of hours. When I turned 40, I became really sick, I started having problems with a racing heart and very low blood pressure, and difficulty breathing. I was sent to an allergist, a heart doctor, a thyroid doctor, and a pulmanologist. Believe it or not, I had all those things wrong with me. When I was 41 I had open heart surgery. I had a quadruple bi-pass surgery. Then again when I was 42. After my open heart surgeries, I started having problems with my thyroid, hyperthyroidism. Then I started having problems walking, I was dizzy all the time, and my vision was blurred all the time, then I had a TIA when I was 46. Through the years I found out that I have fibromyalgia and arthritis, When I was 46 I had to have neck surgery. Then again when I was 47. I am still having problems with my neck. So they started giving me all these test and my neurosurgeon thought maybe it was Chiari so he ran more test and found that it was. I went online to find out more information and could only find very little information. When I watched Extreme Home Makeover and found that the family had what I have was unbelievable. I was so excited that there is a support group. I am still unsure of what can happen to me. My doctor told me that my brain could fill with fluid and kill me. Is there anything that can be done about this? My Neurosurgeon is sending me to see a neurologist. Can someone tell me why they would do this verses having surgery and trying to take care of it? I appreciate the fact that there are others that I can relate to. __________________________________________________
