Yes, Britain was conquered by the RomanEmpire at one point, thus Roman Britain but that's anotherstory.At the age of 16 was taken captive by Irish raiders andtaken to Ireland as a slave. He was told by God to flee hiscaptivity to the coast where he would board a ship and return toBritain. Upon his return to Britain he studied to become apriest.In 432 God called back to Ireland though this time hewas a bishop. was instrumental in introducingChristianity to Ireland.
