What dietary interventions have you tried?Beth Mouser wrote: I just joined this list and was reading in the files about B6 and how kids who can't tolerate it should be getting it. We tried B6 P5P some years ago after seeing Pfeiffer. My son's core autistic trait is handflapping at times, and we noticed an increase in this even after l month of the high dose, so we haven't done B6 since. Currently he is taking a B-complex pill and getting 75mg of the Pyrodoxine and 30 mg of

P5P. I am thinking this isn't considered a "high" dose, am I correct?Last summer we tried nasal B12 along with a one-month trial of Valtrex and gave up after not seeing any changes. Maybe if he had been on the B6, that would have helped (?). Glad to be here,Beth __________________________________________________

Thanks, Amy. We are already using folinic acid in his Folixor.

Should I increase the B6 first as well? Maybe he would tolerate the

B6 cream better?

Thanks,

Beth

Beth, Yasko says the hand flapping is because of ammonia. Have you

run a urine AA test through Doctors Data? You can in any case go to

the website www.autismanswer.com and check out the ammonia protocol.

Beth/Gaytari: worth looking at this too...... biotin deficiency (caused by malabsorption issues) can also lead to high amonia levels too see article http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/patient-biotin.html catGayatri Rampal wrote: Beth, Yasko says the hand flapping is
